Please refer to my posting for the feast of St Dominic last year...
Here at least is the Dominican anthem, versicle and collect in his honour, as sung after the Marian anthem at Compline (even in the Little Office!), or, nowadays, even at Vespers if the people assist thereat - note how the O lumen has a melody very suggestive of the Sanctus from the Missa de Angelis:
Aña. O lumen Ecclesiæ,Doctor veritatis,Rosa patientiæ,Ebur castitatis, aquam sapientiæpropinasti gratis:Prædicator gratiænos junge beatis.(T.P. Alleluja.)(Light of the Church, Teacher of truth, Rose of patience, Ivory of chastity, you freely poured forth the water of wisdom: Preacher of grace, unite us with the blessed.)V/. Ora pro nobis, beate [Pater] Dominice. (T.P. Alleluja.)R/. Ut digni efficiamur promissionibus Christi. (T.P. Alleluja.)Oremus.Concede, quæsumus, omnipotens Deus, ut qui peccatorum nostrorum pondere premimur, beati Dominici Confessoris tui, Patris nostri, patrocinio sublevemur. Per Christum Dominum nostrum. R/. Amen.(Grant, we beg, almighty God, that we who are bowed down by the weight of our sins may be lifted up by the patronage of blessed Dominic Thy Confessor, [our Father]. Through Christ our Lord. R/. Amen.)
