Flinders Island set a new record for Tasmania today, with temperatures touching 41°C, and Launceston (my home once again) had its hottest day in a hundred years, reaching 37.1°C at Launceston Airport (in town itself, the temperature was a shade cooler).
I hope this is not the shape of things to come! (Recall that I joked that I was a climate refugee? Well, I didn't intend that I should have to flee Van Diemen's Land!)
Perhaps the heat can lead us to meditate on our latter end...
