First Vespers of the Immaculate Conception
I'm about to take up the Breviary and pray First Vespers of the Immaculate Conception of Our Lady.
We do what we can, not what we can't. I sometimes suspect that having that sentiment, lifting up one's heart to the Lord in desire for heavenly things, is more pleasing to God than reading great swathes of Office without devotion...
I've been travelling all day, so I haven't had a chance to pray my Breviary... and today of all days! I feel like such a complete heel!

ReplyDeletevery true, Joshua. By the way, I've found your recent posts all very interesting; I just haven't been able to comment!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mark - I always appreciate feedback; my posts don't generally elicit much comment, but I really like it when they do.
